Weekend

...was a whirlwind. Friday Night I went to see La Boheme at the NY City Opera for $25 bucks. It is about time they offer some discounts for anything in Lincoln Center. It was wonderful, and for those of you who have seen RENT, yeah, pretty much the same story, with the exception that Mimi DIES in this version and then the curtains close. A little abrupt, but the music was incredible and made me want to start singing again. I would like to dedicate my evening at Lincoln Center to Julz, who is pretty much obsessed with opera.

Saturday morning, I went to playwright's group and had some revisions of my play, Bob read. I am getting closer, but far from where I want this play to end up. Great, useful feedback though. Left the group early for a rehearsal for a reading I am in tonight, worked on a monologue, and then had a costume fitting for My Deah. The costumer has a background in dressing drag queens, so we should be all set. Not that I'm a dragqueen, but I am pretty much the only one who is not in this show. I think we will be in a good hands. After that went to the gym and watched the women's final in tennis. Pretty decent match, although I would have liked to of seen Justine take the beauty queen to a 5th set.

Sunday, I saw my old roommates and now have about 100 beanie babies back in my possession. What the hell was I thinking when I started collecting those? My friends will be getting beanie babies for bdays and xmas....until they are 50. Went to a cast party, hit my head REALLY hard on a cabinet (no, I wasn't looped), still have a bump, and watched Roddick get his arse kicked by the Federer Express. Another tennis season comes to an end. The US Open felt like it lasted about two months. I am not sure if that is a good thing or a bad thing.

At midnight last night, I awoke to around 200 Hell's Angels driving down 42nd street. I assume to honor the victims of 9/11. I watched the De Niro special last night and it was really well done. Unlike the asses on ABC, who decide to air something that places blame instead of honoring those who died. And what's worse they blame the Clinton Administration. I am not even going to go there today.

My favorite quote of the day by my friend, Schmoe, who was responding to my email about my split toenail...All I know is I got a big toenail that's big enough to show a movie on.
