Nine hours later...

James Blake, US Open 2006

Roger Federer, US Open 2006
(I will post my pics tomorrow.)
...We came back to Manhattan. After seeing Federer, Mauresmo, Nadal, Blake, Bjorkman, Serena,Phillippoussis...and my favorite, Schnugg. The cuter half of a doubles team, from the US. How can you not love saying that name? It was pretty amazing watching all these top seeds stomp on little babies, like Wang. Some good playing between Blake and Moraco though. Blake won in straight sets but he was working for it. He has this group called the "J-Club" and they rally everyone in the stands. Pretty funny. Blake is from Yonkers. As he was being interviewed he thanked the crowd for their support and to his J-Club, adding that Heineken (who is a US Open sponsor this year) had probably contributed to how vocal they were. Pretty funny. Another highlight was Scoville Jenkins, a down to earth, youngster from the USA vs. Bjorkman. Again, Bjorkman clobbered him, but Scoville (I mean is that name for real?) will definitely be a contender in the years to come. Go, Sco! I was saying that as I was falling asleep last night. As we were leaving I spotted this ring just sitting on a post. Was it real? What will I do with the money? Should I turn it in? After doing numerous tests at home, it was decided that the band is sterling silver, but the big ass diamond is more than likely fake. However, my friend is taking it to a jewelers to be sure. Here are my questions: did it fall off someone, drop and someone pick it up and lay it on the post? Did a woman break up with her man and leave the ring? Was I on candid camera? An interesting end, to a fun-filled, PACKED, day.
