The stage is not merely the meeting place of all the arts, but is also the return of art to life. --Oscar Wilde
Only one hundred and fifty more things to do before I leave. Constant busyness lately. Of course, all of my friends from out of town come to NYC this weekend, shows to be seen, drinks to be drunk, socializing to be social (??).
Opening night of Texas Homos was FAB. Tons of people I hadn't seen in a while. Great food. Great music. And, oh yes, I wore pigtails and a cowgirl shirt. I know, that's hot. I sat right behind the dude from The New York Times. (Review not yet out.) It was the best I had seen the show. The energy in the theatre just crackled. ...A great play and I am not biased just because I know Jan. Sure, it's about homos, but it is also about human interaction and love and self-denial and all those other goodies that we, as humans, are forced to suffer through.
On to the laughs: Seeing Fordidden Broadway tonight and Dame Edna tomorrow, and an Acapella Group that my friend has joined (well, this shouldn't be funny per say, but you never know). Then Sunday I am off to Portland to do NO EXIT
I'll leave you today with this quote from NO EXIT:
You are---your life, and nothing else
