2005! Whoa, dude.
Where does the time go? New Year's Eve rocked. I went to a party at the theatre. I got to choose all of the music for the disco room, which contained a disco ball (of course), numerous lighting effects...I even had a lighting cue. My IPOD (I am convinced this is my most favorite thing ever) never let me down. The sound was amazing. There were a couple of requests that I could not fulfill though like one for Marvin Gaye?? I said, (to the freaky little vest man who actually came up into the booth with me) "How the hell do you dance to Marvin Gaye?" There is no mooshyness at my partay. Sammy took crazy candid pictures of people and I viewed them on his computer a couple nights ago. Some will give me nightmares for months. The big moment of the evening was, as Jan called it, "The Floor Show." I'm like, "Jan, we aren't strippers." Kim, Jan, and I opened with the "Shoop" song by Salt-N-Pepa. It was hysterical. I sang two songs (minus RAP). I have to admit I was pretty nervous to be on the mainstage in the spotlight with a microphone, but they liked me. Jan sang a funny French song, in which Eugene, before she began, slapped her in the face (all part of the act). Tee-hee. Pam sang from a show she just finished. And Cynthia/Jonathan, my favorite transgender friend wrote a New Year's play and Jan cast audience members in it. It was AWESOME. This guy/girl is so freakin' talented. After the show, we brought in the New Year with a bang dancing to rockin' Irish version of "Auld Lang Syne." Around 3:30 I thought my feet were actually going to burst into tiny flames and fall off, but other than that, a very kickass evening. Happy New Year, Folks!
...Now back to the groove...and work...and focus. Resolutions: More focus with career (have been sending my stuff out there), use my connections, audition, sing more and find a singing teacher (have one in mind), and learning these freakin lines for NO EXIT. Whew. Pfizer dollars at work. Boss back Monday. Eek.
